TD Ameritrade,
First Ad in the Blockchain
In 2017, the blockchain was just sitting there waiting for an ad to be put in it. So we did. I was tasked with designing how we could present that ad to the world.
How Did It Work?
The blockchain can be used to make data in any industry immutable—the term used to describe the inability to be altered. That's great, but what does that mean? It means, you can put an ad in there and it will never get destroyed. Well, at least until the whole thing ceases to exist. Anyway, my teammates put the first ad in the blockchain. But how can you see it? That's where I came in—I helped build and design the microsite on a shoestring budget so you could appreciate it in all its glory.
Bitcoin is for the birds as far as I'm concerned. But the blockchain? That's the good stuff. That's the technology of the future. In order to plant (embed?) our flag in it, we placed the first ad in the blockchain.
